Set Up Your PAX Terminal Network Settings
1. Enter the main menu by .. | |

3. Press the UP arrow and select LAN Parameters. 4. Use the arrows to navigate through the menu to enter the information below: a. Select LAN Type > Static b. Select IP Address and enter an available and valid IP address for this device c. Select Netmask, Gateway IP, and DNS and enter the relevant information If you do not know how to to find the IP address in Step 4, follow steps below: - Select LAN type > DHCP - Press cancel (red x) to return to the Communications menu - Press cancel (red x) again to return to the Main Menu - The message 'DHCPing...' should appear - Use the UP arrow and select Communications - Enter the password - Use UP arrow and select LAN Parameters - Select LAN Type > Static - Click IP address and note down the IP address |
Connecting Your PAX to the POS
1. Open the POS app > Settings | |
2.Credit Card > Terminal information. Ensure that Enable Credit Card Processing is Toggled ON. | |
3. Enter the IP address into the IP Address field. Save. | |
4. Restart the program for the saved changes to take effect. |
Troubleshooting
When running a transaction, a COMM error occurs from the POS payment screen
- Make sure the ethernet cable has been plugged into the red LAN port.
- This means there is a network issue such as an unstable internet connection, network loop, etc. Ensure there is a proper network connection.
When trying to pay by a credit option, the PAX does not respond
- Power cycle the device by unplugging the power cable and then plugging it back in.
- The network settings may have reset after a power outage, follow the instructions above regarding network settings.
- Make sure the IP addresses in the terminal's settings and the network settings of the PAX device match.
A35
There are four ways to configure your A35 to the network: Local network, Wi-Fi Static, Ethernet, or Ethernet Static IP. Select one that works best for your client.
Connecting the A35 Device to a Local Network
- Turn the device on.
- In Home Screen, tap Settings.
- Enter the password (9876 or pax9876@@), then select OK
- Ensure that Wi-Fi is enabled or toggled on
- Tap Wi-Fi
- Select your local network
- Enter the network's password then tap Connect.
- Wait until the device connects, then tap the W-Fi network's name.
- Select Advanced and scroll up on the screen.
- The app will display the network settings.
- Record the IP address (you will need the IP address to configure the IP address on the POS app).
Connecting the A35 Device via Wi-Fi Static IP
- Turn the device on.
- In Home Screen, tap Settings.
- Enter the password (9876 or pax9876@@), then select OK
- Tap Network & Internet > Wi-Fi
- Select your network name
- Select the pencil icon in top right-hand corner
- Tap Advanced Options
- Scroll down to IP Settings and select
- Select Static in the list
- Enter your IP address, Gateway, and DNS information
- Tap Save
Connecting the A35 Device with an Ethernet Connection
- Turn the device on
- Connect the ethernet cord to the red port
- From the Home Screen, tap Settings
- Enter the password (9876 or pax9876@@) and tap OK
- Ensure the Ethernet is enabled or toggled on
- Tap Ethernet
- The app will display the network settings
- Record the IP address (you will need the IP address to configure the IP address on the POS app).
Connecting the A35 Device via Ethernet Static IP
In Home Screen, tap Settings
- Enter the password (9876 or pax9876@@) then select OK
- Tap Network & Internet > Ethernet
- Select the pencil icon in the top right-hand corner
- Tap Advanced Options
- Scroll down to IP Settings and select
- Select Static in the list
- Enter your IP address, Gateway, and DNS information
- Tap Save
