Set up Tip Suggestions


First, open POS Dashboard > Configurations > Tips


You will have the following selections to configure your Tip Options


 Tip Suggestion Calculation    

  • Calculate from Subtotal (not include VAT)

                   Example:

                           $10 sandwich + 10% sales tax = $11

                           20% tip is calculated on $10 sandwich = $2.00

  • Calculate from Subtotal + Tax + Fees

                   Example:

                           $10 sandwich + 10% sales tax = $11

                           20% tip is calculated on $11 (sandwich + tax) = $2.20



Set Tip Suggestions %

  • You will have the option to customize these percentages (15%, 18%, 20%, and 25% is the standard)
  • Tip Suggestion Label

Note: Suggested tip percentages should clearly display both the dollar amount and the total sum for full compliance. Customer can charge back and win without the tip amount and total sum displayed.


Optionals

  • Hide button No Tip on Tip screen
  • Print Tip Suggestions on Guest Check
  • Advance - if total is less than a certain amount, you can customize dollar amount tip suggestions


Tip Calculation to server

  • Base Amount (default)
  • Net Bank Deposit 
  • Base Amount + Custom Fee - select this option to ensure server tips don't include merchant fees 


Tip Label when Automatic Gratuity is Applied

  •    Default is"Extra Tip"


Save and Restart to enforce any changes.




How do I ensure server tips don't include merchant fees?

  1. Open POS Dashboard
  2. Settings > Tips > Configurations
  3. Under Tip calculation to server, select Base Amount + Custom Fee.
  4. Click Save to complete the process.



How to show tips on the shift report after the settlement?

  1.  Open POS Dashboard
  2. Settings > Tips > Configurations
  3. Under Tip calculation to server, select Net Bank Deposit
  4. Click Save to complete the process.


You will be able to find your tips on the final report like below:



How do I add and adjust tips on a paid check?


Use the following steps to add a tip to a paid check:

1. Desktop > Point of Sale. Login.
2. Select Batch Manager on lower toolbar. 
3. Find your transaction. Select the "Tip" amount. 
4. Adjust Tip window will appear. You have two options to enter in the adjusted tip amount: 
  • Manually
  • Percentage (15%, 18%, 20%, 25%)
5. Select "Ok" to save.

What is the Error: Can Not Adjust Tip?


When trying to adjust the tip on the batch record and the system is not allowing you to adjust the tip you will get the below error message. 


This is caused because of an issue with the credit card.
