Printer Troubleshooting

Occasionally, printers encounter hiccups‌. If you're encountering difficulties with printing, here are three troubleshooting steps tailored to address most printer issues and can be easily performed on-site.

Always begin with these three steps FIRST:

1. Disconnect both the power cable and the ethernet cable from your printer. Wait for 30 seconds.
2. Reconnect both cables and ensure your printer is powered on.
3. Attempt printing again.

If the issue persists, proceed with these additional troubleshooting suggestions:

  • Printing from a terminal? Verify that Wi-Fi is disabled.
  • Printing from a handheld device? Double-check that you're connected to the appropriate Wi-Fi network.
  • Experiencing blank slips from your receipt printer? Ensure you're utilizing the correct paper (refer to Printer Paper Rolls and Ink Ribbons) and that it's correctly installed. If the issue persists, it's possible the paper was loaded incorrectly; try adjusting it accordingly.
